Khalsa Long Write–Up

Khalsa, a word coined by the10th and last Guru of Sikhs,  Maharaj Sri Guru Gobind Singh, the king of kings, a leader, a Martyr and a Human being who set out to follow the footsteps of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, who inculcated one and all to keep Humanity before anything else. To be human is to serve a cause larger than yourself, larger than one one’s desires. “Manas Di Jaat Sabhe Ekahe Pehchaan Ho”

Khalsa translates to “Sovereign/Free” an idea set out in times when oppression and tyranny governed the masses and inhumane crimes shook the very foundations of peacekeeping and progression towards a future built on the basis of service, gratitude, and equality of all who roamed upon the face of the one mother, one giver and one god. 

Through his writings, Maharaj Sri Guru Gobind Singh spread the message – 

A Khalsa fears nothing and will not resort to terror, A Khalsa forever offers gratitude to the lord, and When a Khalsa walks oppressors are thunderstruck with their might and fortitude to spread the message of the lord. A Khalsa is humble, A Khalsa offers his gratitude at all places god is worshipped be it a Temple, Gurudwara, Mosque or a church. A Khalsa initiates or supports a Langar – where food is offered for all who seek it. 

The critically acclaimed musician, Indian king of Pop Daler Mehndi, brings forward an ideology brushed away and forgotten through the ages and refurbishes it with music. Khalsa infuses power in one’s conscience, putting the listener into a trance of remembrance and gratitude and sparks one’s desire to do good and spread the word of good.
